A low-pressure system over Scandinavia will continue to determine the weather in the Alpine region at the start of the new week. On Monday, a very weather-active frontal system will move towards the northern side of the Alps, accompanied by stormy northwesterly winds in the mountains. Strong and soon low-hanging clouds will prevail throughout the day. In addition, precipitation will move in from the northwest in the morning, which will generally be heavy and prolonged in the afternoon. The snow line will be around 1500 meters above sea level. The weather will only calm down on Tuesday morning. Remnants of the disturbance will dissipate, and the sun will increasingly break through from the south. A weak high-pressure system will temporarily prevail, which will continue to determine the weather on Wednesday. Only high veil clouds will pass by, dampening the sunshine. At the same time, these clouds will mark a significant warming trend, with the frost line rising above 3000 meters above sea level. This will be triggered by a wind shift to the southwest, heralding a new period of southerly foehn weather. Early winter will retreat from the Alpine region, and golden October will return.
